Lenovo announced today the new 3000 N200 notebook PC series based on Intel’s “Santa Rosa” notebook platform.
The 15.4 inch widescreen Lenovo 3000 N200 is currently available in two versions at Lenovo’s web site.
The first includes Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor at 1.80GHz, integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and Windows Vista Business OS. It starts at $1,099.
The second Lenovo 3000 N200 configuration features Core 2 Duo T7300 at 2GHz, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 video card, Intel’s WiFi Link 4965AGN supporting 8022.11n wireless connectivity and an optional Bluetooth. This configuration does not include operating system and has a starting price of $1,299.
Both systems come with 1GB of main memory, 160GB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard drives, DVD burners and fingerprint readers.
Currently, there is no information on ports and slots in Lenovo 3000 N200, but the previous 3000 N100 notebook has Ethernet LAN port, 56k modem, four USB ports, PCMCIA card slot, Firewire, 4-in-1 media card reader, as well as VGA and S-Video outputs.

Sony today announced 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 widescreen VAIO FZ multimedia notebook PC series, based on new Intel “Santa Rosa” platform.
Sony VAIO FZ series features the full range of new Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of main memory, and up to 250GB of hard drive capacity. There are an integrated Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT video options. The select VAIO FZ models feature Blu-ray Disc writers and HDMI outputs.
These notebooks incorporate 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, Ethernet LAN, a standard modem and an integrated Bluetooth, as well as ExpressCard slot, three USB ports, Firewire, Memory Stick Media Slot, Secure Digital Slot, VGA out and S-Video out.
According to the FZ’s specifications, it has an estimated battery life of 2 to 5 hours with standard capacity battery and 3.5 to 8 hours using large capacity battery.
Sony VAIO FZ laptops weigh starting at 5.75lbs and come with Windows Vista Home Premium or Vista Business operating systems.
The Company says the FZ standard model will start at about $1,400, while the FZ premium Blu-ray Disc model will go for around $2,000. The VAIO FZ series will be available online at www.sony.com/pr/fz. They will also be sold at Sony Style stores and select retailers around the country starting in mid-May.

Hewlett-Packard today announced HP Pavilion HDX entertainment laptop computer featuring a 20.1-inch widescreen display, new Intel Core 2 Duo processor, new ATI?’s Mobility Radeon X2600 XT graphics, HD DVD drive, HDTV tuner, HDMI output and a dockable Media Center remote control.

HP Pavilion HDX’s display has 1680 x 1050 resolution and is powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT with 256MB GDDR3 (dedicated) and a total of up to 2048MB of graphics memory using shared system RAM. The notebook features Intel Centrino Duo processor technology with Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 CPU at 2.4GHz. The Pavilion HDX supports up to 4GB of main DDR2 memory and up to 400GB of data storage capacity using two hard drives. There is also a HD DVD ROM with DVD burning capabilities, as well as Altec Lansing speakers - “4 Panel Mounted and integrated HP Triple Bass Reflex Sub-Wolfer supporting up to 7.1 external speaker configurations”.
The HP’s largest notebook features Integrated HP HDTV Hybrid TV Tuner NTSC/ATSC with F-Jack adaptor input, S-Video Input, stereo audio input.
Regarding networking and connectivity, it has an integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Intel PRO 4965AGN (with 802.11n draft) wireless connection and a Bluetooth, but there will be no standard data/fax modem included.
HP’s HDX “Dragon” has four USB ports, HDMI, VGA and S-Video outputs, Firewire and eSATA port, ExpressCard slot and a fingerprint reader.
Its remote controller docks to the left of a full-size keyboard with integrated numeric keypad.
The Pavilion HDX, which has an exclusive new “Dragon” HP Imprint finish, weighs approximately 15.5lbs and will ship with Windows Vista preinstalled.
The HDX Series notebook starts at $2,999 and is planned to be available for purchase this summer.

HP Pavilion dv2500t notebook computer based on new Intel “Santa Rosa” platform is now available for purchase.
The 14.1-inch widescreen (1280×800) HP Pavilion dv2500t is configurable with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8GHz/2MB L2 cache) and T7300 (2.0GHz/4MB L2 cache) processors. The new laptop has Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, which is integrated into “Santa Rosa’s” GM965 chipset.
