HP Pavilion HDX to Be Company?s First Gaming Notebook
HP is preparing the release of Pavilion HDX, the Company’s first gaming notebook PC, according to leaked specifications and images.
The 20-inch widescreeen 12-pound laptop will be based on Intel’s “Santa Rosa” platform. HP Pavilion HDX will be offered with the new Intel Core 2 Duo, and eventully with factory-unlocked Core 2 Extreme processors. Regarding graphics, the HDX may include NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce Go 8000-series GPU. The first HP Pavilion notebook for gaming will likely include an HD DVD option with HDMI output as well as a webcam. According to images, there is also a full-featured Windows Media Center remote controller, which docks to the left of a full-size keyboard.
“No release date was pegged for the HDX in the leak, which claims only that the system will be available in the coming months. The relatively finished state of the product images, however, suggests a closer release which may occur as soon as this week’s official release by Intel of the Santa Rosa notebook platform,” Electronista reports.
