Averatec has released 2371 notebooks, its new ultra-portable laptop PC series. Weighing at 4 pounds, the Averatec 2371 features a 12.1-inch 1280×800 widescreen display, AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor and Windows Vista Home Premium Edition operating system.
The 2371 laptop supports up to 2GB of main memory and comes with 120GB SATA hard drive. It has nVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 integrated graphics, a dual Layer DVD/CD Burner, 802.11b/g wireless, Ethernet LAN, and a 56k modem.
Regarding ports and slots, there are three USB ports, ExpressCard slot, Firewire, VGA out and a 4-in-1 Media Card Reader.

Asus will release five new notebooks (A7S, F3SV, F3SC, A8SC, and W7S) featuring the new nVidia GeForce Go 8000 series video cards and Intel’s “Santa Rosa” notebook platform, according to NotebookItalia.
Although there are no details of the listed GeForce Go 8400 and 8600 GPUs, these graphics chips and other models in 8000 series should provide DirectX 10 and high-definition video capabilities for next generation PC games and multimedia.
The GeForce Go 8400/8600 graphics cards can optionally use the system memory in addition to their dedicated video RAM. This option is enabled by nVidia’s Turbocache technology, providing one of the Asus notebooks with a total of up to 896MB of video memory.
Along with new Intel Core 2 Duo processors with up to 2.4Ghz clock speed and 800MHz front side bus, the select revealed Asus’ “Santa Rosa” laptop models have wireless N (IEEE 802.11n draft) connectivity, while one of them, A7S, has HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) output.
The ASUS A7S features 17-inch widescreen display, while the F3SV and F3SC have 15.4-inch WXGA screens. The A8SC and W7S are 14.1 and 13,3-inch widescreen laptops.
All of mentioned notebooks come with Windows Vista operating system preinstalled.
